mini: We just got a mini Dachshund puppy and a beagle puppy, Dachshunds female, the beagle is male. We have never breed before but thinking the mix would be cute if it doesn't kill the mom or pups. What is wrong with this picture?? If you've never bred, breeding just to make "cute" puppies isn't the way to start. ALL puppies are cute. What happens when they grow up? Can you ensure that the people who take them won't get tired of them and dump them in the shelter to die? If you can't, don't breed. Yes, the Mini very possibly will have complications, requiring a c-section ($800-$1000) and endangering both herself and the puppies. Get both dogs spayed/neutered, and love them for the little pets that they are. Hundreds of thoughtlessly bred Dachshund mixes are killed in shelters daily. Hundreds of thoughtlessly bred Beagle mixes are killed in shelters daily. If you've spent any time at all in this section, you will have seen the semi-hysterical questions from people trying to breed toy sized dogs and suddenly encountering life threatening problems, whether it's during the pregnancy or during delivery. And if the beagle is larger than the mini dox, which they usually are, you're looking at a c-section, which is very costly and very risky. And that's assuming the mini dox even lives long enough. Please don't risk her life and health this way.|||1. yes its bad to breed her. 2. they are hard to breed and if the pups are too big both the pups and mother can die. 3. plz don't breed her! there are so many dogs in this world all ready and if you plan to sell the pups, if they don't kill the mother first, most would end up on the street. And beagle mixes are one of the most common dogs to be surrendered to shelters. Please just get the dogs fixed at 5 months and if you want a dachshund/beagle mix puppy,you can find one in just about any shelter. And yes,it would be very hard on a miniature dachshund to have beagle mix pups.Do you have $1,000.00 or more for an emergency C-section? Mini Dachshunds are so tiny, the Beagle breed would probably kill her. Breed Mini Dachshunds with Mini Dachshunds. There are enough mutts in the world.
