mini: Why can't i wear mini skirts in school as a teacher? I love mini skirts , and I think I have the right body for them . I work as a math teacher in a high school (in europe) and when I wear mini skirts at work I got all sorts of troubles . The student girls wear skirts even shorter than I do and its ok ? Is that something I see wrong ? How is it at your school ?Why is it accepted that School girls wear Mini skirts but Teachers are not allowed?I'm in the US and some schools allow modest short skirts even from teachers. I went to 2 high schools and one was more accepting/laid back than the other about teacher dress. The second school asked that teachers wear pants, capris, or below knee skirts, while the first really didn't care as long as it wasn't too revealing.|||teaching is a career position, and it's a position you represent by being there, it's a position that children are to look up to you and learn from you. What parents let their children wear is up to the parents and not you and doesn't reflect on you, there is no competition there at all. You are not competing with the children, not competing even to see which skirt could be shorter. It has absolutely nothing to do with your shape or body either. It has everything to do with your status and the respect you command from the children you teach, you are the example. In addition short skirts encourage young boys to think thoughts that come from the hormones they are experiencing. The next thing you will be telling us is that some kid hit on you, or that you started something or that they started something and you accepted, and that you're going to jail and don't know why. You are supposed to wear clothes that cause the least bit of attention grabbing so that the kids can focus, learn and study. Use your brain. When i went to school I was taught by nuns, full garb and down to the floor including arms covered (12 years). When my sister went to school the kids wore jeans and t-shirts (12 years).Why is it accepted that School girls wear Mini skirts but Teachers are not allowed?It's called role modelling. Duh.
