I just bought a 7000 BTU mini split AC/heat pump and it didn't come with the installation pipes. The seller offer pipes of 3 ft/6 ft/9 ft etc. for the AC. Should I get the 3 feet pipes and hang the outdoor unit above ground next to the indoor unit, or should I get longer pipes so that I can put the outdoor unit on the ground? Thanks. What pipe length should I use for my mini split AC/heat pump?Hello Tax:

Put the outdoor unit on a pad on the ground, 4" above the high point in the area. A poured concrete pad 4-6" larger than the unit is best, but a compacted gravel/stone bed with a composite pad on top will work. Once the OD unit is placed, measure the pipe length needed, and have it installed by a licensed installer. Having the unit on the ground will make it easier for repairs in the future.
