We just got a mini Dachshund puppy and a beagle puppy, Dachshunds female, the beagle is male. We have never breed before but thinking the mix would be cute if it doesn't kill the mom or pups. Obviously we have some time but wanting to know.Is it bad to breed a mini dachsund and a beagle? can the Female mini carry the pups?"We have never breed before but thinking the mix would be cute if it doesn't kill the mom or pups."

What is wrong with this picture??

If you've never bred, breeding just to make "cute" puppies isn't the way to start. ALL puppies are cute. What happens when they grow up? Can you ensure that the people who take them won't get tired of them and dump them in the shelter to die?

If you can't, don't breed.

Yes, the Mini very possibly will have complications, requiring a c-section ($800-$1000) and endangering both herself and the puppies.

Get both dogs spayed/neutered, and love them for the little pets that they are. Hundreds of thoughtlessly bred Dachshund mixes are killed in shelters daily. Hundreds of thoughtlessly bred Beagle mixes are killed in shelters daily.

Don't contribute to that.|||It would probably kill the female and if it didn't the pups would be mutts so don't do it.Is it bad to breed a mini dachsund and a beagle? can the Female mini carry the pups?yes its bad, first of all you dont know what your doing, breeding takes ALOT or work if you dont want to run the risk of really high vet bills, and possible death in mother dog and pups, and second there are already thousands of dogs and puppies dying every single day because of reasons like that,DONT breed them, get them both spayed and neutered! if you breed them you will most likely end up being forced to take the puppies to shelters, and they will die, dont take homes from shelter dogs and breed more mutts,do the right thing and have them spayed, and neutered!|||A mini and a full beagle? I wouldn't risk it...certainly not on purpose...there are enough mutts that need homes, there's no reason to make more.Is it bad to breed a mini dachsund and a beagle? can the Female mini carry the pups? No, don't do this. If you've spent any time at all in this section, you will have seen the semi-hysterical questions from people trying to breed toy sized dogs and suddenly encountering life threatening problems, whether it's during the pregnancy or during delivery. And if the beagle is larger than the mini dox, which they usually are, you're looking at a c-section, which is very costly and very risky. And that's assuming the mini dox even lives long enough.

Please don't risk her life and health this way.|||1. yes its bad to breed her.

2. they are hard to breed and if the pups are too big both the pups and mother can die.

3. plz don't breed her! there are so many dogs in this world all ready and if you plan to sell the pups, if they don't kill the mother first, most would end up on the street. Do you want that to happen? And do you want to put you dog in risk of dieing??? Lots and Lots of dogs die every day.

4. plz get female and the male neutered/spaded.

I hope this helps :)|||Why do you want to breed mutts on purpose when across the country, shelters are already overflowing with adorable puppies that will be killed because there is no room for them? And beagle mixes are one of the most common dogs to be surrendered to shelters. Please just get the dogs fixed at 5 months and if you want a dachshund/beagle mix puppy, you can find one in just about any shelter. And yes,it would be very hard on a miniature dachshund to have beagle mix pups.Do you have $1,000.00 or more for an emergency C-section? Just get the dogs spayed and neutered.|||"cute" is not a good enough reason to bring even more pups into this over populated world.

get your dogs fixed, and leave the breeding to people who know what they are doing..|||Why would you even want to do that? Mini Dachshunds are so tiny, the Beagle breed would probably kill her. Breed Mini Dachshunds with Mini Dachshunds. There are enough mutts in the world.
