There has been speculation that the LHC could potentially create miniature black holes. However, is colliding particles the only theoretical way that mini black holes could be created? What are some other possibilities? How else could a mini black hole be created?A proton will decay only extremely rarely, but there are so vastly many of them that a proton will decay within your own body several times a second. When a proton decays, a tiny black hole is formed. The new black hole is so small that it evaporates in an unimaginably small amount of time.
Cosmic rays can have enormous speeds, millions of times faster than the fastest ever produced in an Earthly collider. They have been colliding with particles in Earth's atmosphere billions of times each day since our planet was formed. Any black holes that may have been created have vanished as soon as they occurred.
