If your dog is not able to handle being alone while you are gone all day, then you have 2 basic options for keeping the dog sane.
1. Hire a dog walker to come in 1-2 times a day
2. Put the dog into doggie daycare
Additionally, you WORK the dog for an hour in the morning before you leave and an additional hour when you return. By work, that means activity that burns energy and works the brain. Hide & seek, frisbee, obedience, tricks, agility, etc.
If you can't do either, then you call the breeder that the dog came from and you give the dog back or if you used a mill/BYB, then you call Schnauzer rescue.
People who work full time absolutely can own dogs, but they have to take the proper steps to ensure that the dogs are properly cared for.
