I think my mini schnauzer has an insect bite near its tail. He keeps either biting or cleaning it.What home remedy can I do for mini schnauzer to keep it from biting? If it is a flea or tick problem Frontline will work in a heartbeat. It could be an allergy or a cut too. In either case you need to make an appoinment for the vet. There are some remedies you can do that the vet suggested to me. For an allergy you can give then HALF of a CHILDRENS benedryl. They also make hydrocortisone cream for dogs. Some human stuff was not made for dogs and could harm them. Would you use your dogs shampoo for your hair? Of course not, it wasnt made for you.
You need to find out what it causing the itch before you can treat it. You might have to get a doggie allergy perscription. You need to get on a flea preventative and if that doesnt help you need to get a "satellite" to prevent any further damage your dog is doing to himself.|||distract him
If you put a bandage on, take care, if it is too tight you can hurt him very much
If not over in a few days you need to see a vet. What home remedy can I do for mini schnauzer to keep it from biting?Do you have any petroleum jelly? You could put that on it. I don't know whether it will stop him or not, but it's harmless if he swallows it and I'm sure he won't love the taste. Dogs also hate citrus, like lemon juice, but that might sting if he has a sore there.
Be careful that he's not actually biting fleas though- if you look at the base of his hair near his tail and you see little black flecks, that's called flea-dirt, and it's easier to spot than the fleas themselves. In this case, you will need to get a flea treatment.|||i have an 8 yr mini and the only thing that is working for us is vicks vapor rubb one bite and they won't like it at all, plus it will
not dry out the already dry spotWhat home remedy can I do for mini schnauzer to keep it from biting?liquid bandaid... vet recommened it to us with our dogs with they get bites works GREAT they can't bit or lick it off!|||First of all make sure he has no parasites that could have caused the bite, after they're gone there is this shampoo you can use http://www.drugstore.com/qxp87721_333181鈥?/a>
