I'm thinking of getting two or three mini horses, of course I'm doing all the research possible before getting them. How much land would they need? How many acres are needed for two mini horses?"they" say you need 5 acres of land for a horse. This is because as we all know horses are herd animals. Left to roam the plains they would not be in the same area for a long period of time. Having said this. One horse needs that much room so he does not get wormy. Horses kept in too small of an area will poop and eat in the same area. worm eggs will be ingested easier and more often. With today's worming products this is not as big of a deal as it once was.If I were you I would have 2 One acres pens. That way you can switch them back and forth.|||minis because they are smaller dont need as much space as a big horse, but it is nice for them to be able to run without having to slow down or turn too quick, you could put all of them (2 or 3) in a pasture that is anywhere from 1/4 acre to 1/2 an acre. they would be just happy with that, they could still run and play. How many acres are needed for two mini horses?I'd stick them on an acre or so, providing that they have grain and hay in their diet as well. Good luck, I love minis! :)|||From what all of my trainers have taught me you need at least 1/2 an acre per horse so at least an acre for the minis. But of course they do not need as much grass as horses. SO a 1/2 an acre to 1 should do well. Be sure to divide that in half and rotate! How many acres are needed for two mini horses? Not to much. I have 4 on about 1/2 an acre of land rotated. It is plenty big enough for them to run and play in. I would suggest rotating so you always have a drier and grassier field for them if you can.|||it depends where you live in the usa the western part of the us would need more land then mid south or plans states do to grass qualty|||Well for 1 horse it should be 1 and a half . So i would say around 3-4 acres. LOL!!
