mini: My gf has a mini Chihuahua and i love it. It is 2 years old and i would like to know if she is 2 old to mate cause i really really want that dog but she wont give it to me so i want the dog to breed so i can have one of my own.How old does a mini chihuahua have to be be to not be able to mate?That is a poor reason to breed. There are so many people breeding Chi's that they are among the ones that are euthanized on a daily basis. Hundreds of them, if not thousands through out the world. Even if you cloned that particular dog there is no guarantee that it will be the same personality. & not one of the pups will be like her. She is an individual & unique. Your best bet is to adopt one on death row. Save a life. You will be glad you did.|||Yes, she's WAY past her prime. She should have been bread at 6-7 months when she had her first heat! I've been told the female should start breeding around 2yrs old when they've reached maturation and are done growing and developing and most health risk and concerns that would not want to be bred into the next generation should be evident by then. Puppies are sold around 8 wks of age, most states it is illegal to sell puppies any younger then 8 wks of age because they are not ready to leave their mothers yet.|||no she isn't to old to mate cause at 2years old cause if she is reg with AKC they have to be at least 2 years old for females! make sure when you breed her that its with a small male cause if not she might end up dying cause the male was to big and it does happen! just remember chihuahuas are small with big heads and this can cause a problem with breeding. chihuahuas are famous for having C-sections and honestly they aren't cheap at all. After sedated dog wakes up from the operation it will not take to the puppies an sometimes it will even kill or eat the puppies and aslo a tiny female may die from carrying to many puppies or she may not carry the pups to full term|||Yeah, you and your BYB girlfriend can breed her 5 times a year and get lots of little clones! And give them away to pet stores at 3 weeks! Please don't breed your PET QUALITY DOGS dog for that reason. If you want a chihuahua so bad, go to a RESCUE, not your BYB girlfriend. P.S.
