I know your thinking duh you just typed it! But when it says mini meals does that mean for breakfast I have just an yogurt, and snack a handful of salad, lunch some grapes and juice?
Is that correct?
I mean size wise is that mini enough?
And for thoes who have done it when did you see results?
And how many hours were in between before the next mini meal? How does the six mini meals a day work?It helps control your hunger so that you don't overeat after being too hungry for a long time.
It helps keep your metabolism going by fueling it constantly. Going too long without eating can make your body slow its metabolism so that it absorbs every bit of food you put into it.
It also keeps you energized all day so you're non-stop.
I suggest taking your calorie needs and dividing by 6 to figure out what your mini-meals should be like. For example, if your age/weight/height/activity level requires that you eat 1,800 calories... each mini-meal can be around 300 calories
ex. One cup of Multi-Grain cheerios plus 1/2 cup. skim milk with 1/2 banana|||It's eating little meals all day long instead of three big ones.
I have never heard of the actual "diet" of this. But do know that it works for myself. Eating small good for you meals all day long, you don't "starve", or "crave" food till the next meal, then overeat. Your metabolism I think works better for burning off the calories. Your not bloated from a big meal, but satisfied, and that is really all the body needs. It isn't like meat loaf and potatoes, then mac and cheese, then a sandwich....Its like a decent breakfast, maybe a granola bar later, lite lunch, an apple later, a nice salad, baked chicken and veg's, then a lite snack couple hours before bed. Not chocolate cake....
See what I mean....How does the six mini meals a day work?Hello,
The idea behind having 6 meals a day instead of 3 meals a day is to jumpstart your metabolism by tricking it into thinking that your body is getting more food than it actually does. Oddly enough, it works.
The best thing to do is go off the daily number of calories you consume. Say you consume 2000. (which is the suggested number of daily values). you Divide 2000 by 6, and that's how many calories you'll want to eat for each of your six meals. That'd be 333 calories per meal, by the way.
What you're describing sounds about right, veggies usually have little or no calories. Good luck.|||Yes, it works, but MAKE SURE you eat the "in between meals". What you're telling your body is, hey man, the food's coming, so chill out... that way it doesn't try to STORE everything you eat like it doesn't know where the next meal is coming from.
But be active also, it helps. How does the six mini meals a day work? When you eat, your metabolism temporarily speeds up to digest the food. By eating smaller meals throughout the day, you not only are increasing your metabolism, but you are also not ingesting as many calories at one time so your body makes the most of it instead of storing it. This also keeps your hunger cravings down eliminating the urge to eat more.
