I want red mini blinds for the kitchen but haven't been successful finding the red that I want. I found the exact color red in a spray can of paint and wanted to know is this possible. Can you use spray paint to paint mini blinds?Certainly it's "possible"

Good notion as well.

I assume you aren't going to undo all the slats. In any case they should probably be set up in an area, Hung, where they won't be disturbed, and set to the flat, either convex or concave UP.

I suggest research into the substance of the paint in question, dry time, and second coat ability. Some create an Orange Peel with a second coat (not good). If the paint offers no such disclaimers, and the blinds are clean, spray a first coat light. Follow the directions, if there are disclaimers, regarding when a second coat can be applied.

You can mask some of the mechanism, but I assume you'll want the top carriage/cords/rod to be painted as well. They may not attain the same shade?

Steven Wolf|||It's not adviseable. The paint will get into the lines that are used to pull the blinds up and down. If you were to raise the blinds during the day, particularly on a hot day, the cords will stick and you'll be left with blinds that either have to be forceably pulled back down (potentially damaging them) or won't come down at all.Can you use spray paint to paint mini blinds? You could but I would advise you to dismantle them first so as not to coat the strings.|||Sounds almost easier to keep searching for the color you want if you have to take the blinds apart. Can you use spray paint to paint mini blinds? Many of the aluminum mini blinds are protected with a dust repellent finish that might prohibit a good clean finish when trying to spray paint them. You might try looking at the link below for a new blind. They have numerous brands and they have many reds to choose from with very reasonable prices. If you try and paint the slats and rails, you still have the problem of the cords and ladders not matching, plus it's a lot of work.|||Yes but it will take alot of cans do do the job.
It will be cheaper and time saving to just buy new blinds .|||you can...but its a lot of busy work,,,is your time worth it...if you like the red try finding curtains or valances in that color...or accents of that color in accessaries for the kitchen
