mini: I know I should just get rid of them, they are out of style, but I have so many windows and have only been here for a year, I am taking my time with decorating and window treatments. So does anyone have any tricks for cleaning these things? They are so old they are metal mini blinds.Any tricks for cleaning mini blinds?the fastest easier way to go is fill your bathtub with tide w/bleach and allow the blinds to soak a little...take a wash cloth and wipe them down....to dry them take a full body towel and dry the blinds...works for me...|||Run a bathtub of very warm water (enough to cover 4 blinds). Put a little dishwasher soap (cascade) and a little ammonia. Let them soak for 15 minutes or so. Take a cloth or soft brush and wipe them, hang them to dry over the tub or outside. I've actually had people approach me and tell me it was a great idea.|||I hang them up on a fence. Close the blinds as far as possible, then clean with soap using a sponge. Reverse the slats and repeat. Rinse, let dry. You can put them out side and use your garden hose.|||I take mine down and soak them in the bathtub with laundry detergent. Scrub with a brush, rinse and dry. It tales a little time but it gets ALL of them clean.|||I throw an old quilt down on my back deck and get out the hose and make up a bucket of warm soapy water and a soft scrub brush. I then take the blind down off the window, lay it on the old quilt, wet the blind down and then soap it up and scrub it with the brush, both sides. I then hose it off. I pick the blind up and tilt it sideways until the water drains off and then take it back to the window and hang it up. If you want, you can wipe the excess water off, but usually tipping it sideways and giving it a little shake gets most of the water off. I can clean all my mini blinds in about an hour. I have 7 in my house.
