mini: I'll be 18 in a few months so I'm starting to think about the first car I want. My decision comes down to the mini cooper (the current one), and a mustang between 1955 and 1960. As someone already pointed out, the Mustang didn't come out until 1964. You would probably get better mileage with a Mini and it would be more suitable as a "daily driver" than a classic Mustang. If you do opt for the Mustang the years up to and including 1973 are the collectible models. The person who said don't buy one made after 1970 doesn't know his cars.
