mini: We have a mini fridge that slowly leaks water from the back. One time we even saw that it had built up a big piece of ice on the cords in the back from the dripping. The fridge is an Avanti. How do we fix this problem?Why does our mini fridge leak water?Most many refrigerators do not have a drain. They are manually defrosted and the water is dropped in a pan below the freezer compartment then manually dumped by the owner. First try to completely defrost it. If it still has the problem after completely defrosting it then get back on and ask more questions. My guess that frost is collectring on the suction line due to refrigerant flooding out of the evaporator. This is due to way too much ice on the coil.Why does our mini fridge leak water?The drain plug is probably stopped up. Find it, clean it out using an object small enough to fit the hose, and this should stop the problem.
